Pre-listening
§ The teacher tells the children that today they are going to do some activities about ALIENS.
§
She shows the pupils this image of some aliens
and she asks them:

How many aliens are in the picture?

How many aliens have two heads?

How many colours can you see in the
picture?

Which alien do you like more? Why?

Where do you think these aliens are?
a.
In a bar, that is a place where you can eat
and have a drink.
b.
In a shop, that is a place where you can
buy some clothes.
c.
In a museum, that is a place where you can
see art like pictures and sculptures.
While listening
§
The teacher describes some of the
characters that appear in the image. The pupils have to find them listening
very carefully to the descriptions. Also the teacher will ask them a particular
question about the description.
a)
Peter is sitting on a high chair. There is
a lot of noise and he finds it hard to read the newspaper.
b)
Michael has three eyes. He can see very
well. He serves drinks to the rest of the aliens. He is the waiter.
c)
John and Paul are very tall. They have one
head each one but they share the same body. Paul is drinking a cocktail while
John is smoking.
d)
Mary is the youngest alien. She is always
smiling. She likes to meet new aliens. She is pink.
Post-listening
§
The teacher gives some information about
the last descriptions to the pupils and they have to say if that information is
TRUE or FALSE.
If the phrase is false they will have to
say the true:

Peter reads a book. (Answer: False. He
reads a newspaper).

Peter is a customer. (Answer: True).

Michael has one eye and he doesn’t see very
well (Answer: False. He has three eyes and he can see very well).

Michael serves chips to the rest of the
aliens. (False. He serves drinks to the rest of the aliens).

John is short and Paul is tall. (False.
John is tall and Paul too).

Mary is a pink alien and she is short. (True).
§
The teacher gives some plasticine to the
pupils and they have to create their own alien doing something. For example and
alien drinking a coke or an alien playing with a toy. Then, these aliens will
be all together in shelving.
